1. Damp, Mice and Asbestos

There was clearly a reason the rent was so cheap. As with many old houses (this one is 1800s) mice are a problem - the landlord was quick to provide traps and poison which did make a noticable difference. Damp is currently a problem at the property and the landlord has done nothing to rectify it, despite constant complaints. Asbestos buried in the back garden was also an issue. The landlord is nice enough in person, although he tended to become defensive when you point out problems with the property (i.e. shower leaking). The house is in dire need of a full refurbishment - you definitely get what you pay for here...
