1. 4 bed student flat, with garden

By Lirva_May - stayed here from 4th August 2011 to 3rd August 2013

great student flat. and great value, it was only £250 per room pcm.
its a basement property, with its own front door, and garden, which was very sunny. a gardener comes round the cut the grass, arranged and paid for by the letting agency.
the rooms are all of a good size, and there is plenty of storage.
the kitchen is a little on the small size but functional. the fridge broke whist we were there, it took rather a long time to get it fixed, but was replaced with little fuss, and the replacement was good.
the living room is one of the smallest rooms in the flat, but functional. the original sofa broke two days after we moved in, but it was replaced within a week, and the replacement was of good quality. there was also a single seater, and we had space to put our own sofa in too, which we left upon leaving, and my well still be there. we also had a coffee table and a tv unit, and brought the small dining table from the kitchen into this room. i also moved the desk from my room into the living room when i bought my own desk. so although it was smallish, we still fitted plenty in, and plenty of people for parties.
the bathroom was fine, everything was functional. the shower was in a separate cupboard, which we found useful so the loo could be used by someone else when the shower was in use. the disadvantage of this was the shower room struggled to control damp, and there was a lot of black mould. however the flat company understood this and arranged to have the shower resealed on several occasions to try and combat this as much as possible. the shower itself was great, with plenty of water pressure, and nice and hot!
one of the best things was that it was a dentist above us, so there was no one bothered if we made too much noise at night if we had a party, which with the garden as well was great. the flat is a little on the cold side. also since access is gained from the back of the building via a side street, no one can find it for deliveries.
there are plenty of good amenity's in the local area, with a scotmid within 10 minutes walk, 2 take always, and a butchers, within 5. its also in a fibre optic internet area. and on a major bus route.
over all i was very sad to leave this flat, and i highly recommend it to anyone looking for a student flat in the area.
(we all went to Heriot-Watt university, and it was well worth having to either walk down to the 25 bus route, or take a bus to haymarket to get into uni everyday.)
